Team Up Thursday - New Beginning (Week 9)

Theme: Pets

Our cats are a hugely important part of our lives and in many respects are more like our kiddies than just animals. They each have their own destinct personality and are much loved by all our children. Love this special moment between Nick Nick and Lunar......

Jessie is Claire's little dog and from what I understand she has a cheeky, perky personality which I think is beautifully captured in this shot.

Team Up Thursday - New Beginning (Week 8)

Theme: Texture

Claire and I are determined to keep our TUT running despite baby's imminent arrival so although today's post is late at least it is still here :0)

I LOVED this theme, and the instant Claire sent it through I knew EXACTLY what I was going to photograph....we have this old tree stump out in the back garden and it has this amazing "fungus" growing on it. The contrast between the white fungus and brown tree trunk appeals to me photographically and of course there is just texture in bucket loads to fit in with the theme.

The light in Claire's shot this week is outstanding (I am beginning to sound like a broken record lol) and really highlights the lovely texture in this parasol....another great capture partner, thanks for sticking with me :0)

Team Up Thursday - New Beginning (Week 7)

Theme: Love

I think it is quite interesting (and refreshing) that both Claire and I thought of ROMANTIC love when depicting this theme rather than perhaps the love between a parent and child, or that between siblings.

My shot was taken a while ago at a wedding I photographed. I think the LOVE is very evident in the way this couple are looking at each other....I wish them a very long and happy marriage.

Claire's wonderful photo this week is OBVIOUSLY one of my favourites, it was taken of myself and my gorgeous husband during our recent pregnancy photoshoot and it one that I will cherish for a long long time.

Team Up Thursday - New Beginning (Week 6)

Theme: Boys

As Claire and I have tried to be really organised in the run up to baby's arrival early next month, this week was once again stress free....although this time I did get out there and take the shots specially for the TUT as opposed to falling back on archives like I did last week :0)

The three boys in my series are best friends and each one has such a distinct and unique personality...they are ALL BOY and I just couldn't resist snapping them for this theme.

I LOVE the fact that Claire's photograph is the opposite end of the "Boy" age spectrum, and again these two are ALL BOY, their toys are just a little bit more expensive lol

Team Up Thursday - New Beginning (Week 5)

Theme: White

When Claire sent me through this weeks theme it was a HUGE relief, I simply KNEW immediately that I would use a snow photo and that I had literally hundreds to choose from, thus removing all the stress in an otherwise fairly hectic week.

My shot was taken of a local landmark Mansion in Lindfield during the record snowfall at the end of 2009. I just love the way the brick contrasts with the otherwise total whiteout in this photo, imagine living in a house like this :0)

Claire's photo this week is artistic and slightly abstract....the depth of field on the lights is fantastic and I believe there is a bit of story as to when and how it was taken.

Keeping it Casual

Whenever possible I like to balance the more "formal" studio portrait shoot with either a bit of fun in front of the lights or, as was the case last Monday, a visit to a local outdoor area to shoot some more relaxed photos.

Team Up Thursday - New Beginning (Week 4)

Theme: Royal Wedding

Claire's theme this week was, of course, only fitting in view of what was surely the event most forefront on the minds of everyone in the UK (if not the world) this weekend. Having toyed with ideas of getting up to the city to photograph the bunting and decorations etc, I found myself quite desperate on the day with still no photo in hand.

Although not an original thought, I decided to watch the ceremony on telly armed with my camera and managed to capture a couple of shots which I rather liked...the resolution of my TUT this week is, understandably, rather poor, but I found myself very taken with the expression on Kate's face in this moment.

Claire's shot is far more original than mine and really shows the hype surrounding the wedding, even in its aftermath...great capture again this week partner!
